As you may have gathered, the days are merging into one another. \u00a0The weather has been fabulous – just one overcast day and even that was a good walking day anyway! \u00a0We did a rough tally the other day and we have walked about 60 miles in total.\u00a0 Quite a bit is duplicated where we have to walk back by the same route, of course.<\/p>\n

It’s not all walking, however! \u00a0We have had a several evenings socialising with four other campers who are regulars on this site at this time of year.<\/p>\n

… And the six of us had lunch out at the imaginatively named “Le Vieux Columbier” at St. Columbier. \u00a0Of course, to get our daily walk quota in that day we had to do an early morning walk followed by a shower, change and lunch.\u00a0 This, in turn, was followed by a quick change back into walking gear and another walk on the gulf coast.<\/p>\n

Whoops, that was my picture of the ladies playing volleyball on the naturist beach the other day. \u00a0I didn’t realise that WordPress has an auto-censor function – uxorious almost!\u00a0 (But more of that later!)<\/p>\n

Here, the yacht in the centre was going nowhere (into the current) while the other boat raced past with the tide.\u00a0 Phenomenal currents hereabouts.<\/p>\n

The walking paths are conveniently marked with white and red and sometimes yellow as well. These marks are painted on any convenient object – lamp-post, tree, rock, fence, cow, horse… \u00a0Of course, on the coast path we only have to keep the water on one side.\u00a0 If our feet get wet we veer a bit away from the water and keep going.<\/p>\n

This marker is unusually decorative – and I fibbed about way-marks on cows and horses by the way.\u00a0 They don’t really do that! \u00a0Do they? \u00a0OK – so then go left here…<\/p>\n

But which way here?<\/p>\n

Which ever way you choose, the air is obviously extremely clean around the coast here. \u00a0The lichen is super-abundant on the bushes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Walking from Port du Crouesty In a generally South-Easterly direction (which actually means setting off in a N<\/span>orth-Westerly direction because the coastline is so crooked, crinkly and convoluted around here!), we came to a remarkable hotel.\u00a0 It’s shaped just like an ocean-going liner complete with two funnels and water round the bows. However, it is completely land-locked and runs as the Miramar Crouesty Hotel Thalasso and Spa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We broke into this hotel a couple of years ago by the back door which, as it happens, is in the ship’s bow at water-level.\u00a0 We entered via a conveniently unlocked gate from the beach.\u00a0 Across the gang-plank over the surrounding “ocean” (pond) and into the heart of lower-deck cabins. \u00a0We found the bar\/restaurant on the top deck easily enough, but could we find the main doors to exit.\u00a0 Could we, hell? \u00a0Well, who puts the main entrance on the second floor (deck)?\u00a0 Anyway, the hotel management have now sealed off that security malfunction.\u00a0 We couldn’t get in that way this year!<\/p>\n

But that’s enough of that.<\/p>\n
