here is to see these fellas&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1652\" I&#8217;m so far behind with this blog!\u00a0 Our days are getting into a routine.\u00a0 Up about 6 am.\u00a0 Walk until it gets too hot (about 8 am).\u00a0 Then shower, breakfast, coffee, possible snackette, possible second shower, off to school to pick up one, other or both boys, transport home, possible after-school activity, games, tea, story, and bed for boys.\u00a0 We then drive 20 minutes home, third shower and collapse into bed!\u00a0 So I don&#8217;t need to repeat that for every day.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll just add the different things we manage to squeeze in.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday&#8217;s are Soccerdays.\u00a0 Not football, around here that conjours up AFL &#8211; Australian Rules Football (a weird cross between soccer, rugby league, handball and volleyball with probably a couple of rules adopted from tennis, golf and mahjong!\u00a0 Sorry Kevin!).\u00a0 Jack&#8217;s soccer team will be playing for his school on Saturdays from now on.\u00a0 And Robin is a coach for one of the groups.\u00a0 That&#8217;s a bit of a joke.\u00a0 He never liked it at school and now plays touch rugby and Ultimate (sort of American football &#8211; without the violent physical contact &#8211; played with a frisby).\u00a0 So he&#8217;s going to have to read the book of rules &#8211; or maybe (and this is more likely) just bluff it!<\/p>\n<p><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" &#8220;spring board&#8221;.\u00a0 Right on target!<\/p>\n<p>At the weekend we had a play-date at our place.\u00a0 Lots of Lego, stories and pizza.\u00a0 We also fitted in a trip to the park one coffee at Alexander Headland Surf Lifesaving Club with a superb view.\u00a0 You can just see our tower block in the far distance.\u00a0 \u00a0We are in the short, right-hand end block!<\/p>\n<p><img sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Come to think of it, we&#8217;ve had the &#8220;occasional coffee&#8221; every day!\u00a0 Our caravanning friends at home would be proud of us!\u00a0 We&#8217;ve tried out two local places within walking distance of our flat, one at Mapleton in the hills, one at Yandina, another at Malaney &#8230; Noosaville &#8230;\u00a0 etc etc.\u00a0 The one at Perigian Beach came with one of their notoriously, scrumptious vanilla slices.\u00a0 \u00a0(They make just five a day &#8211; and we got the last one!)<\/p>\n<p>Our stop for refreshments in Bli Bli at the Maroochy River Golf Club gave rise to a certain hilarity with the staff.\u00a0 First, you should understand that golf clubs here are generally very happy for total strangers with no interest in golf to walk in for a coffee and cake or a meal and a beer.\u00a0 Very much more socially integrated than many clubs at home.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" Coolum in the distance.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, we managed to leave Glenda&#8217;s pink cardigan on her chair when we left.\u00a0 Of course, at 30\u00b0C any form of second clothing layer is, to say the very least, totally unnecessary.\u00a0 Hence it was over the back of her chair.\u00a0 At the end of the day, the absence of pink cardie was noticed.\u00a0 We compiled a list of all places it might be and started ringing round.\u00a0 We decided the golf club was the most likely as that was the COOLEST place we had been all day (everything here being relative!).\u00a0 And, as luck would have it, we needed to ring no further.<\/p>\n<p>The conversation went something like this: &#8220;Have we left a pink ca&#8230;..&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;Ha ha ha!\u00a0 Yes, you have!&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;How did you know what I was going to say?&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;Ha ha!\u00a0 Well, that&#8217;s the first one of those ever to pass through our lost property department!\u00a0 Everyone here including the pastry chef knows about the famous pink cardigan!\u00a0 Ho ho!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In Glenda&#8217;s defence, I have to point out that it&#8217;s really just a net-like wrap.\u00a0 More of a fashion accessory than a garment worn for warmth!\u00a0 If I hadn&#8217;t mentioned that, she would have!\u00a0 Although she strenuously denies the &#8220;fashion accessory&#8221; label!<\/p>\n<p>OK.\u00a0 Moving on.\u00a0 Car registration &#8220;numbers&#8221; here are quite interesting.\u00a0 Any previously unregistered combination of up to seven letters and numbers &#8211; provided the result is neither too rude or offensive &#8211; can be used.\u00a0 For example, today Jack and I saw &#8220;CAKE&#8221; &#8211; for the second time&#8230;\u00a0 We had a lot of fun looking for &#8220;Icecream&#8221; and &#8220;Biscuit&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1667\" src=\"https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190320_162946-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190320_162946-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190320_162946-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190320_162946-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We also saw &#8220;JAG-U-R&#8221;.\u00a0 But the best on this trip so far is an astonishing &#8220;1&#8221;.\u00a0 A car belonging to one of my sister&#8217;s friends has the number 1546 which was apparently originally attached to the 1546th car registered in NSW.\u00a0 I think number &#8220;1&#8221; beats that!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1671\" src=\"https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190320_162924_crop_672x373.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"672\" height=\"373\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190320_162924_crop_672x373.jpg 672w, https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190320_162924_crop_672x373-300x167.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Obviously this car is not owned by anyone from Myanmar!\u00a0 Remember our Myanmar language lesson?<\/p>\n<p>When we were in Mapleton, having a nosey tendency, we drove out on Delicia Road to see if we could spot the house belonging to Penny and Stuart (of Myanmar cruise fame).\u00a0 At the time we didn&#8217;t know their address.\u00a0 However, we did have a few clues we remembered relating to their view, size of property, distance down road and simplicity of house design.\u00a0 These, combined with determination and help from Mr Google Maps in &#8220;satellite mode&#8221; we were able to narrow it to three possibles.\u00a0 And it turns out one of them was it!<\/p>\n<p>Delicia Road is one of those roads that starts like Old Nelligen Road if you remember.\u00a0 This time the paved section was much longer.\u00a0 The first part of the gravel road was actively being worked on by graders and other heavy-looking kit.\u00a0 Like ONR, the surface quality soon declined, especially on the steep sections where recent heavy rains had washed out gullies along the road.\u00a0 We had vaguely hoped that the &#8220;No through road&#8221; sign at the start of the road had been put there to stop people using the road to get down to the Obi Obi Valley.\u00a0 However, this road definitely didn&#8217;t go anywhere useful like that.\u00a0 So, about turn!<\/p>\n<p>The Obi Obi Road is one of our favourites.\u00a0 Largely gravel downhill and sealed back up.\u00a0 We always used to like to hear the bell birds dinging away in the forest here.\u00a0 However, having had four days of them going all day long at my sister&#8217;s place, we are (slightly) less enthused now!<\/p>\n<p>On over the Mary River to Kenilworth. To be continued&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A FISHY STORY<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>A game warden catches an unlicensed fisherman in the act.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;You&#8217;re going to pay a big fine for all those fish in your bucket&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;But, officer, I didn&#8217;t catch these &#8212; they are my pet fish and I just bring them here to swim.\u00a0 When they&#8217;re done they jump back into the bucket.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Oh really?\u00a0 This I&#8217;ve got to see.\u00a0 If you can prove it, I&#8217;ll let you go.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The fisherman empties the bucket into the lake and waits patiently.\u00a0 A few minutes go by and nothing happens.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Game warden: &#8220;So where are the fish?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Fisherman: &#8220;What fish?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The view that met us as we arrived at our rented apartment was just as stunning as it was last time we were here.
