morning the other day.\u00a0 Parents, siblings and grandparents invited.\u00a0 We got all geared up.\u00a0 Loaded the rucksack with water and supplies.\u00a0 Borrowed a satellite phone, a tent and all-weather gear and got extensively sprayed with bug-repellent &#8211; not knowing how far into the forest we would be &#8220;romping&#8221;!\u00a0 It was a really good event with about ten activity stations neatly spaced around the school grounds.\u00a0 The school does admittedly have some trees &#8211; but calling it a forest might be stretching things a bit.<\/p>\n<p>The favourite was the &#8220;Marble Run&#8221;.\u00a0 Lots of tubes, boxes, gutters, funnels and sticky tape.\u00a0 The &#8220;marbles&#8221; of his native Yorkshire.\u00a0 But these would have been the glass producing factories not the sort in which you would grow tomatoes.\u00a0 And he was a long way away at the time, sitting offshore as he was!\u00a0 Having done some research, I can see what he was talking about.\u00a0 This is a picture of a &#8220;Glass Cone&#8221; found at Alloa &#8230;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1721\" style=\"font-family: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\" src=\"https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/images.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/images.jpeg 263w, https:\/\/tappstravels.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/images-236x300.jpeg 236w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 263px) 100vw, 263px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although it is true to say that Alloa is squarely located in Scotland not Yorkshire!\u00a0 This structure looks as if it would have dated from about James&#8217; but there&#8217;s a problem.\u00a0 Apparently over one-quarter of all known species of animals are beetles. I missed!&#8221; exclaimed the sailor as his ball rolls into a bunker.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;My son!\u00a0 Please refrain from using that type of language, The Lord can hear you!&#8221; gasps the priest.\u00a0 The sailor apologises and they proceed with their game.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The sailor takes a whack at his ball from the bunker.\u00a0 He has a great shot, landing the ball right on the green.\u00a0 Still it&#8217;s not good enough for him, so yet again he mutters &#8220;DAMN IT, I missed again!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The priest bursts out, yelling &#8220;my son!\u00a0 The Lord will strike you down should you continue in your sinful ways!\u00a0 You will be punished for your sins!&#8221;\u00a0 The sailor apologises profusely and lines up his putt.\u00a0 The putt heads straight for the hole&#8230; and then runs around the rim and stays out.\u00a0 &#8220;DAMN IT!
